Monteverde has shaped me as a person in moral and spiritual values. This trip has showed me the importance of biodiversity in our daily life. My understanding biodiversity has improved amazingly since my generation's trip to these forest. There are many ways you can help restore biodiversity, for example planting trees, cleaning ecosystem, using correct disposals of waste, having correct water treatments, and many more. An international organization that is constantly fighting against this and is one of the biggest, if not the biggest organization in order to help natural is Greenpeace (see the video in the home page). In monte verde we planted a biological corridor and we also planted native plant species in the area. In the "vivero" we cleaned dirt and took away all the harmful plants from native species in order for them to be later introduced in the environment.

In our field trip to Monteverde I learned a lot about ecosystems, species, and how important it is to protect them. there are lots of species and animals in our country and in the world that are endangered and could become extinct o it is important for us to save them and protect all their habitats for them to have a good environment and place to live in. some ways we can help protecting all these species and forests are by planting trees in places where they are needed, like we did in our trip to Monteverde that we planted some trees and helped for the corridors they are doing. also by don't polluting or destroying their habitats, so we can tell people theimportance of these and encourage them to stop destroying all these forests and polluting them. Also in Monteverde we helped with some plants by planting them and working in the plant nursery where we took the bad plants of. After these trip I learned the importance of protecting all these and now I know how I can help and also I think that we could encourage people to help protecting these ecosystems.

I am fit for biodiversity. Since, the beginning of this semester I have been taking Marine Biology, Marine Biology has really opened my eyes about the reality we live in. I did not so much illegal trade, hunting, finning went on. However, since I have been taking Marine Biology my interest in the biodiversity around the world has grown a lot. So I was really excited for this trip to Monteverde, I was excited because I had never been to Monteverde and I would like to learn about the species in Costa Rica. So learning that Costa Rica was in need of more biological corridors, made my service learning more reasonable to do. Planting estacones was not the best experience that I've had but I know I did it for a good cause and that years later I hope the reward is seen when beautiful Bell Birds are seen crossing the corridor. Service Learning was tough especially under the beating sun and the hard full of rock soil, but knowing that it was for good and for the beauty of my country's biodiversity I happily did it. Understanding biodiversity has really changed my point of view, I learned many things I didn't knew before and changed my perspective on the meaning of life, and how we should live. It changed me to the point that I have consider becoming a biologist and doing something for the animals that are the most beautiful creation on Earth.
